Boris Gamrekeli

Director, playwright, actor

He was born on May 2, 1900, in Zestafoni. From 1922 to 1933 he was an actor and director of theatres in Tbilisi, Sokhumi, Batumi, Poti and Chiatura. From 1933 to 1938 he worked as a director at the Georgian Youth Theatre. He Worked at Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre from 1939 to 1941 and from 1944 to 1977 at the Vaso Abashidze Music and Drama Theatre.

1938 – Honoured Artist of Georgia.
