He was born on January 14, 1899, in Tbilisi. He graduated from Georgian Drama Studio in Moscow in 1926.
From 1918 he worked as an actor in Tbilisi Workers’ Theatre, Sokhumi and Chiatura Drama Theatres. He worked as a director and actor in the Kutaisi and Batumi Drama Theatres, and at Kote Marjanishvili Drama Theatre (1932-35). Between 1936 and 1947 he managed the Poti Drama Theatre. From 1956 to 1958 he worked for Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Drama Theatre as a chief director.
