Otar Mamphoria
Playwright, translator, writer, poet
He was born on January 1, 1924, in Kutaisi.
He graduated from the Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Philology in 1951, and then graduated from the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute. Author of about 50 collections of poems, short stories, plays and children’s stories. He has translated into the Georgian language: Sergei Yesenin, Aleksandr Blok, Boris Pasternak, and Yevgeny Yevtushenko.
