He was born on March 17, 1960, in Tbilisi. He graduated from the Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Philology in 1982.
Work Experience:
1985-2000, worked at the Institute of Georgian Literature; 1997-2000, President’s Press Office; 2004-2006, Imedi TV; Since 2008 he has been the Head of Foreign Relations Department of Tbilisi City Council.
Author of numerous books, including:
Georgian Bestseller (1999); Imitational Writing (2000); The Jesus Case (2001); Summer of the Patriarch, (2007).
His novel The Jesus Case was adapted for the stage by director David Sakvarelidze, and staged at Sokhumi State Drama Theatre in 2018.
Awards:
2007 – ‘Saba’ Literary Prize; 1996 – ‘Golden Eagle’ International Film Festival, Best Screenwriter; United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF Award, Best Children’s Work Created at the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
