He was born on November 29, 1960, in the small town of Shorapani, in the Zestaponi district. In 1986 he graduated from the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University, drama faculty, actor of theatre and film. In 1995 he graduated from the Directing Department of the Peter Brook International Theatre Centre in Paris.
Since 1986 he has been an actor at Rustaveli Theatre. He has been teaching acting at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University since 1993.
