Aleksandre (Sandro) Mrevlishvili
Director, playwright, pedagogue
He was born on February 10, 1941, in Tbilisi.
He graduated from the Faculty of Directing at the Leningrad Theatre Institute in 1963. From 1963 until 1966 he was the director of the Sokhumi State Drama Theatre. From 1966 to 1973 he was the director of the Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre. He was appointed as a pedagogue at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgian University in 1966. From 1973 he was the director of Metekhi Theatre. He has staged about 100 productions.

1996 – Kote Marjanishvili Prize;
1987 – People’s Artist of Georgia;
1977 – Honoured Art Worker;
State Prize of Georgia.
